MS Sparreholm was a beautiful ship built in 1944 in Malmö. She measured 6350 ton DW and with an engine of 7100 hp she could do 17 knots. I signed on Sparreholm on the 4th of July 1960 in Gothenburg. We crossed the Atlantic ocean with a ballast of 1000 tons of sand. After that we sailed between Canada and the northeastern US to the Mexican Gulf. I celebrated my 25th birthday in Havana. When we returned to Gothenburg I signed off. I had got enough of stormy waters.
